In this position, you will lead the planning and execution of the Payroll & Time and Absences project at group wide level using ABB and/or 3rd party resources. Lead project planning and execution in accordance with company procedures, relevant cyber security regulations and standards, project objectives, applicable quality standards, safety requirements and cost and scheduling targets. Apply project management processes as applicable. You will report to the Head of Global HR Services. ***The ideal candidate is based in Europe.*** Willingness to travel is required (around 20%).

Your responsibilities

  • Perform in-depth analysis of current Payroll & T&A landscape and design the future landscape in a changing IS environment
  • Create a roadmap and prepare possible scenarios for harmonization and simplification, and delivery model of payroll and T&A
  • Establish and gain approval of a business case defining the value proposition of the project and considering different scenarios, commercial implications, risk management, and feasibility in a global and dynamic context
  • Develop a project charter and a project plan describing how the project will be executed for communication to project team members, key stakeholders, approval and as the basis for execution
  • Analyze procurement needs for the project and reflect these needs in the project plan and cost planning
  • Lead the project team allocated to the project, defining main guidelines, allocating project tasks, and motivating and monitoring internal and/or external resources to accomplish all tasks and milestones
  • Ensure project follows sound methodology and execution practices in accordance with standard ABB internal directives and procedures
  • Ensure compliance to relevant cyber security regulations, standards, and contractual requirements
  • Keep up to date and informed about any change in strategy and consult regarding any activities or other project(s) which have, or might have, a major impact on the project
  • Effectively organize, monitor and control activities to ensure achievement of planned stage-gates and efficient utilization of available resources
  • Monitor and control project cost and financials. Identify, contain, and reduces risk and ensure that all opportunities are captured and acted upon
  • Serve as the key contact for project stakeholders and escalation point for project issues
  • Develop dedicated stakeholder management and Change Management plans and apply best practices in Change Management
  • Establish plans to mitigate and manage current and future risks on the project and maximize associated opportunities developing during the execution of the project

Your background

  • 10+ years of work experience and knowledge in several fields of HR with good level of understanding of Global Payroll and Time & Attendance processes.
  • Knowledge regarding Workday, SAP HR, T&A systems, payroll systems / providers, and integrations.
  • Graduate/post-graduate degree in Business Management, HR, Computer Science, or related discipline.
  • Proven project management by having successfully led programs of global scope with significant aspects of complex IT implementation, organizational transformation (change management) and ambitious value creation targets.
  • Strong communication and execution skills to influence HR and business leaders towards common solutions (standardization) while maintaining the outside-in approach (customer-orientation). Ability to structure and convey complex messages and insights into meaningful recommendations and actions.
  • Leadership with vision and ambition, passion for quality and speed, creativity and readiness for innovation to break new ground, can-do attitude, problem solver, high level of resilience.
  • Collaborative working style appreciating the inclusion of geographies, different organizational levels, functions and cultures. Developing and coaching others.
  • Professional proficiency in English, MS Office, digital collaboration tools/platforms.
