We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Design and Implementation Consultant to join our team on a 5-month Fixed Term Contract based in Hamilton. This role will be on site for the first 2-3 weeks (accommodation can be provided) but then can be mostly remote. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical architecture and design expertise to our customers, encompassing all aspects of networks within both On-Premise and Cloud ecosystems.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with customers to understand their network requirements and objectives, and design tailored solutions that meet their needs.
- Develop comprehensive technical architecture and design documentation for network solutions, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and standards.
- Provide expertise in network design for both On-Premise and Cloud environments, considering factors such as scalability, security, and performance.
- Work with cross-functional teams to implement and deploy network solutions, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
- Utilize your extensive experience with Cisco/Juniper Switching and Fortinet Firewalls to design and implement robust network configurations.
- Bonus points for experience with Arista networking solutions, contributing to enhanced network capabilities.
- Establish and maintain architectural principles and standards, ensuring local and regional alignment for consistent network design approaches.
- Participate actively in infrastructure projects, offering insights into infrastructure component replacements or upgrades.
- Demonstrate a profound understanding of the interplay between desktop, server, and network hardware within distributed environments.
Experience and Qualifications:
- A minimum of ten years of experience in the IT industry, with a strong focus on infrastructure network architecture and design.
- Proven track record in designing and implementing network solutions, showcasing your solution-oriented approach.
- Extensive experience with Cisco and Juniper Switching, as well as Fortinet Firewalls, is essential.
- Familiarity with Arista networking solutions is considered a valuable bonus.
- Ability to set, maintain, and effectively communicate architectural principles and standards.
- Demonstrated engagement in infrastructure projects involving component upgrades or replacements.
- Sound understanding of the interactions between desktop, server, and network hardware in distributed environments.
- Strong communication skills, allowing you to collaborate effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.
- Relevant certifications in networking and IT infrastructure will be advantageous.

Salary: $130,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
