This hybrid position as Global Logistics Manager (f/m/d) is instrumental in achieving NCAB’s long term logistic targets by enabling group synergies and leverage while supporting the transformation of logistic management process globally.
Long-term responsibilities include both regional / segment lead (40%) and global stream lead (60%): warehousing/quality, sea/air forwarding or express.
Position
European Regional lead:
- Build a regional strategy according to both local requirements and group strategy
- Explore and deploy new innovative logistic solutions (routings, warehousing, means of transport)
- Identify and drive continuous improvement and optimization projects (costs, CO2, service)
- Benchmark and negotiate rates with service providers on behalf of the region
- Collaborate with other Regional logistic managers for negotiations, benchmarks, projects and support worldwide
Global lead on Logistics transformation:
Performance management (costs, CO2, perf)
- Monitor budget execution and spot deviations or opportunities, at global, regional, or ship-to level (transport lanes)
- Implement a monthly financial bridge gap analysis/review
- Implement a monthly forecasting tool (fuel, inflation, mix, opportunities)
- Invoice control methodology
Network optimization / logistics design
- Network: build a simple model to use in Europe or for any simulation project taking costs, CO2, inventory and lead times as inputs
- Method: build a simple model enabling to choose the right transportation method in terms of costs vs inventory vs margin.
- Manage or support logistic projects globally
Purchasing method
- Build a standard RFQ format and process for Air and Sea budgets.
- Launch contract agreements with main partners (priority on defence sector)
- Launch a Global sea freight tender in 2024 to further develop synergies
Profile
The role is suited to an individual with strong logistic projects leadership and change experiences in a global business environment with state-of-the-art concepts.
We are looking for a business oriented person with a good understanding of the bigger picture with a minimum of 5 years experience conducting regional/global logistics optimization and with a strong experience in logistics (road, air, sea), customs, data analysis (excel advanced), TMS and ERP, RFQ simulations, planning. Supply chain background is a plus.
The candidate should have good analytic capabilities and proactively see opportunities in the supply chain. In this role, this is will help to be target driven and result focused with a proven track record of delivering on business objectives.
To succeed in this position, the new colleague needs to be a dynamic leader with a clear business mindset and integrity and with a structured, focused and quality-minded way of working. She, or he, is also strategic and with a holistic mindset, but understands local issues, and has an interest in developing business. Travel internationally on a reasonable basis (monthly) both within the region and globally will help to understand the local situation and needs.
