Nivoda is looking for an experienced and dynamic Head of Accounting to guide our global team in daily accounting and financial analysis tasks. This role, based in Amsterdam, provides a unique opportunity to influence the financial direction of a rapidly growing company. Reporting directly to our Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will be responsible for managing the accounting functions, overseeing accounting records and supervising all accounting operations for 10 legal entities globally. Your remit also includes analyzing financial and operational data, coordinating auditing processes, and safeguarding the accuracy of our financial information.
Nivoda’s sells close to USD 200,000,000 annually and this is set to grow to USD 1 billion annually by 2026.

As our Financial Controller, you will play a vital role in this exciting journey.
What you'll do:
Financial Reporting and Analysis:

Oversee the preparation of financial reports including income statements, balance sheets, and future projections.

Analyse financial data to identify trends, assess financial performance, and provide actionable insights to management.
Accounting Oversight:

Oversee the accounting department ensuring proper maintenance of all accounting systems, functions and records.

Supervise and participate in the preparation of necessary documents for financial audits.
Budgeting and Forecasting:

Prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts.

Review budget proposals and prepare necessary supporting documentation and justification.
Process Improvement:

Identify opportunities to improve processes and implement best practices in financial analysis, reporting, and data management.
Staff Supervision and Training:

Supervise the operations of the accounting department, including staff training, work allocation, problem resolution, and performance evaluation.

Lead, mentor, grow and manage the accounting team, ensuring a high-performance culture that prioritises accuracy and efficiency. Implement robust performance management, employee development, and succession planning initiatives.
Strategic Planning:

Participate in corporate policy development as a member of the senior management team.

Assist in formulating the company's future direction and support tactical initiatives.
What you'll need:

A master's degree preferably in finance, accounting or business. -
Professional certification such as CA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent.

At least 10 years of experience in finance/accounting, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role, ideally within a global organization.

Excellent knowledge of accounting standards, IGAAP, IFRS

Demonstrated expertise in financial management and accounting, including in-depth understanding of cash management, foreign exchange, general ledger, and intercompany transactions.

Strong leadership skills, with a proven track record of team development and mentoring.

Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial managers.

Proficiency in financial management software (Netsuite experience highly advantageous).

Knowledge of relevant accounting and financial regulations.

International experience will be an advantage
